FAQ’s

What’s your background?

I have always been a writer. I started out my career in the media business on the marketing and sales sides at ABC TV Network while also writing for local publications and non-profit organizations. I spent more than four years at the Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network writing and producing on-air promos and a season at the Tyra Banks Show booking experts and everyday people and handling a ton of other tasks. I also worked as an editor at a regional parenting publisher, pitching and writing content for their print magazines and website. Add to that, a variety of freelance writing projects along the way.

Why are you so passionate about health?

After several weight gains and losses, I decided I needed to take control. I joined Weight Watchers, and made exercise, nutrition, and healthy living a priority. I became absorbed in learning everything I could about leading a healthy lifestyle and it soon became a priority in my life.  I even became a certified Spinning instructor so I could motivate other people to push beyond their limits and show them that exercise could be fun. I believe that eating right, exercise, and making healthy choices for mind, body, and spirit, are all important for a happy, balanced life.

Why makes you different than other copywriters?

I’m professional, thorough and a perfectionist through and through; I would never send a client a final product that isn’t exceptional.  I have never missed a deadline and even try to deliver work early, if possible.

What is the process?

It’s very simple:
1:  We’ll set up a complimentary, 30 minute chat about your project. I’ll take notes and ask lots of questions.
2.You’ll provide me with any existing materials that I will need to write—creative briefs, notes, contact information for sources, etc.
3:  I’ll draw up an agreement that we’ll both sign and I’ll get to work.
4.  If I have questions or need clarification, I’ll contact you.
5: I’ll deliver the first draft. You’ll respond with any revisions (up to 2 are included) and I’ll send the revised project for approval. All done!

How much do you charge?

Each project is unique so it really depends on the scope of the project and what exactly is involved. Some projects require more work like interviews, research, reading through background materials and existing content, and client meetings, while others are simple re-writes.

A complimentary, 30 minute initial phone meeting is included before you commit and sign our agreement.

Most projects are quoted on a project fee basis; this is a more affordable option for you. For projects that initially lack an objective or direction, an hourly fee works best. For longer projects that require my complete attention, a retainer fee is appropriate. Please see my fee schedule to get an idea of my rates.

When is payment due?

For all projects, a down payment of 1/3 of the total fee is due once the contract is signed. No work will begin until the down payment is received. One third is due when the first draft is delivered, and the remaining is due after revisions, if necessary, and upon final acceptance. Final payment is due within 10 days of the invoice.

How many revisions are included?

My goal is to get it right the first time but oftentimes some tweaking is required so up to two rounds of back and forth revisions are included in your quoted project rate. Additional revisions will be charged at the hourly rate of $125.

Can we set up a meeting?

Most of the time in-person meetings to discuss a project are not necessary.  We can usually discuss all of the details on the phone, Skype, or via email.
